MTU Maintenance Hannover has broken into the South Korean market, winning a deal from Asiana Airlines to service the latter\'s  CF6-80C2 engines.

“By winning the contract from this major airline, we’ve added the first carrier from South Korea to our MRO customer base,” stated Dr. Stefan Weingartner, president, commercial maintenance at MTU Aero Engines.

The five-year maintenance agreement covers the CF6-80C2 engines powering Asiana’s Boeing 767 and 747 fleets. Asiana has twelve 747-400s and eight 767-300s in its fleet, covering both passenger and cargo aircraft.
