Air Asia sees upturn

Air Asia founder Tony Fernandes says that fares in Malaysia are rising on the back of capacity cuts at Malaysia Airlines, and that the Group’s Indonesia and Thai operations have turned a corner.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Fernandes said, "Malaysia Airlines is now going to be operated rationally. The airline was operated with a lot of subsidies. That's coming to an end and that's good news for us." He added that fares in Malaysia were already rising.
He also said that business was improving at the Group’s Indonesian and Thai affiliates, which have both been hit by political uncertainty.
